Style

My style is exquisite simplicity mixed with understated elegance. When I design, I concentrate on the essential elements. No element is added without purpose. It keeps the message clear and concise. Each design expresses to the audience elegance, distinction and quality.

Philosophy

I look for the relationship between the page and the content. Choosing thoughtfully and provocatively the colors, the type and the style of the graphics that become the content. Art is about striking a mood, evoking an emotion, relaying a message visually and engaging the audience. I create a design that is cohesive with the message expressed in some clear elements and some more subtle elements. My design skills reflect my desire to create meaningful and innovative designs. I enjoy the challenge of creating an apt solution in meeting a design need. As a Renaissance woman at heart, I continually seek out new challenges and thrive on continually learning.

Background

I began my studies in art and design at Pratt Institute, and then switched to computer programming at the Computer Processing Institute. The thinking that went into programming was something that I loved, as well as, learning the technical side of computers.

My first love is art and always will be. After years of programming, I realized this. In 1993, I made the switch back to art and design. Since then, I have found a balance between the creative and the technical.

The programming and technical skills I have gained over the years provided me a solid foundation when I began designing for the web and now in learning Flash. I miss the green bar paper printouts, which made it easier to troubleshoot code that is producing undesired results.

Location

Located in Manchester, Connecticut, I share my studio with my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Jon Jon and my three kitties, Clarice, Luke and Sidonie. They give me their creative input and feedback, though they are all paws on the keyboard.
